2016 USPHC Schedules are now available!

Alrighty, here it is. This is your final (probably) email from us. It's been quite a time getting to this point. Thanks for sticking through it. Weather looks a little warmer than we'd like, but we're working to have the ice as good as it's going to get. That's pond hockey. 


Schedules are posted!

Game schedules are now posted on uspondhockey.com and are available in the mobile app (iPhone and Android). Scores & standings are updated frequently during the weekend, so we recommend downloading the app. We also send out important notifications through the weekend and the app is the best way to receive those.

Sign your player waivers NOW!

All registered players must sign a waiver/release to participate in the tournament. Please read all of the information and electronically sign your waiver/release by Wednesday, January 27!

Mandatory Player Check-in

Tournament check-in will be open in the Warming House Tent at Lake Nokomis from 5pm - 9pm, Thursday, Jan 28th. There, each player on your team must check-in individually and present the USPHC official tournament waivers or have previously signed them online. If you are arriving late or from out of town, check-in will re-open in the Warming House Tent from 7:00am - 8:30am on Friday, Jan 29th.

All team members must be checked in and all USPHC waivers must be signed before any game is played. Credentials are not transferable, and players who are not registered will be ejected from the tournament.

Teams who would like to submit a substitute player must do so at the Player Information Booth located in the Warming House Tent by 8:30 a.m. on Friday, January 29th. Teams will be allowed one substitution, and players may only be listed on one team roster.

Women's Teams: Teams playing Women's division can check in during Thursday check-in and also on Saturday and Sunday from 7:30am - 9am. Teams are allowed one substitution and players not checked in before the first game at 8:30am forfeit their place in the tournament. Players may not play for more than one team.

Championship Sunday Qualifications

We will advance the following to the Championship Round. The writer is not good at math, but we have a "Blaskometer" making sure the right numbers, matchups, play-in games, and brackets are all set.

Teams that advance to Championship Sunday in each in division are calculated by most points, ties in point total are broken by lowest total number of goals scored against followed by goals for.

  • Open - 41 teams - 8 pools - 8 teams will advance. The top team in each pool (calculated by most points, ties in point total are broken by lowest total number of goals scored against followed by goals for) will advance to the championship round.
  • Cedar - 80 teams - 16 pools- 16 teams will advance. Top top team in each pool will advance to the championship round.
  • Rink Rat - 72 teams - 18 pools - 32 teams will advance. The top team in each pool (plus 14 wild card teams: calculated by most points, ties in point total are broken by lowest total number of goals scored against followed by goals for) will advance to the championship round.
  • 40+ - 8 teams - 1 pool- 4 teams will advance. The top 4 teams will advance to the championship round.
  • Women - 12 teams - 2 pools. 2 teams will advance.

This is the week we've been waiting for! In just a few days, the 2016 Labatt Blue U.S. Pond Hockey Championships begin.

But the Road to Nokomis starts even sooner, and we want to share it with you. Starting today, start sharing photos to the Social Stream in the mobile app. Let's see your sunny start, your airport shots, and cold weather arrival. The more photos the better! We'll pick our favorite and the winner will get a cool prize pack. Make sure to sign into the app, or include your name (and team name) in the photo description.
