Hope you and yours are enjoying a bright and shiny new year full of lots of good thing... especially ample amounts of pond hockey.
Folks, the pucks drop in only two weeks!
We've put together a preliminary event schedule highlighting all of the great things that will be happening throughout the weekend. Click here to view the 2011 Schedule of Events for the weekend.
We are excited to announce that we have commissioned internationally renowned printmaking artist Chris Speakman to create the first annual official limited edition USPHC print. Each print is HAND MADE, signed by the artist, editioned, and dated. All prints are printed on a quality 100% cotton paper, archival & acid free. Only 400 prints of this year's artwork have been produced. Long sleeve T-shirts featuring the artwork are also available for purchase. Click here to place your order before they sell out!
All players must check in individually Thursday night between 5-9 p.m. in the tent. Come hang out, have a few beers and a bite to eat with the Pond Crew! Want to save time? Bring your signed waivers to the check-in table with your photo ID and you’ll be on the pond faster than you can say, "Cal Clutterbuck." Click here to download the Player Waivers PDF.
We've also extended the deadline to make updates and changes to your roster. The extended deadline is Sunday, January 9th, 2011 at 11:59 PM (CST - Lake Nokomis Time). Click here for detailed instructions.
You may be curious to know about ice thickness. A reading taken yesterday shows that we have 17 big, fat, beautiful inches of ice on Lake Nokomis. Oh Lake Nokomis, how I love thee and thine ice. For behind the scenes coverage of the 2011 USPHC point your trusty browser to the "Nokomis - LIVE" page!
We’re still looking for helping hands to get the show on the road (or as we say, to get the ice on the pond). Volunteers are needed for everything from door greeters to score runners and ice repair. Also, with more than 500 games in 3 days we need referees. Referees will be paid $10 per game and we provide training.
If you can pitch in, click here to sign up to be a USPHC volunteer. Muchas gracias!
For all of those non-skaters who are looking for an opportunity to participate in this year's event, we've created the Timberland Boot Hockey Tournament! Get your friends together and come join us for the "evening session" on Lake Nokomis.Click here to learn more about this new event and register your boot hockey team.
Flying solo this year and looking for a team to join? Click here to fill out this short form and we'll try and find you a team that is looking for players. We will notify all registered free agents by Friday, January 14th if a team is available for you to play on.
