10th Annual Labatt Blue U.S. Pond Hockey Championships!

Hockey. The way nature intended.® Outdoors in the crisp winter air, skate blades gliding on the fresh ice below, with the sounds of clacking sticks and the smell of grilling bratwurst filling the air.

Reunite with your friends over a weekend when time can stand still and we can all be kids for three days. The champions will go down in history with their names etched into the Golden Shovel, a symbol of our lifelong love and passion for the purity of this outdoor game.

Open Division

(Compare to Men's A/B leagues)

The Open Division is considered the most competitive division of the Labatt Blue U.S. Pond Hockey Championships, with 80 teams competing to have their team name inscribed on a piece of pond hockey history: the Golden Shovel. This division is for men and women age 21 and older. Some open division teams carry former NHL legends, Division 1 hockey players or high school greats. Teams hold up to 6 players with 4 players on the ice at a time. Each team is guaranteed four games: two on Friday and two on Saturday. Up to 18 teams will advance to the Golden Shovel round on Sunday to compete in up to 6 grueling games, with only one team emerging triumphant.

Introducing the Cedar Division. We understand it's a big jump from the Rink Rat to the Open. You may not be a former NHL'er or ex-Gopher, but you've still got soft mitts and an "A squad" stride. The Cedar is ready to welcome a brand new battle for the Silver Scoop.

Each team holds up to 8 players and is guaranteed four games: two on Friday and two on Saturday. 16 teams will advance to the Silver Scoop round on Sunday. The Cedar Division is for players age 21 and older.
