Youth Event How it Works

Teams will consist of six players each and no goalie. Teams will play four on four pond hockey, which allows two additional players per team to substitute in. There will be no referees, but adults (parents, coaches or volunteers) will help guide the game.

Teams will arrive to their rink and will then be divided up via “sticks in the middle” prior to game start, meaning kids will play with and against their teammates. Each team will be guaranteed two 25-minute games.

Participants are encouraged to come early and watch adult pond hockey games, play on the family skating rink, and to stick around to watch the USPHC open division championship game at 3:30 p.m., where the top two teams will battle it out for the Golden Shovel trophy.
