Youth Night Coaches and Parents,

Youth Night is incredibly special to our event and community and while we would love to have it go on as planned, we simply can’t. So here’s what we’re going to do:

The U.S. Pond Hockey Championship rinks are being closed for the day. We will not be allowing anyone to skate on our rinks today (Thursday, January 24th) due to the extreme wind chill temperature levels taking place now and into the evening hours.

The warming tent is going to be open as planned at 5:00pm. In addition to merchandise, food, and socializing that is open to all, we also have our adult check-in for the weekend’s tournament. The warming tent will be open, so if you were hoping to come down to visit the tent for a while, you can still do that.

We're as bummed as you are, but ultimately the kids’ safety is paramount. We hope you'll choose to bundle up and stop by Lake Nokomis during the day this weekend to partake in all the hockey festivities as the wind dies down. We plan to have two rinks set aside all weekend long for families to enjoy open skating.
